It is reported that Vision Pro is equipped with two 4K MicroLED displays, with a size of 1.42 inches, more than 23 million pixels, and a pixel density of 3386ppi.
This time Vision Pro allows users to see no pixels, almost with the clarity of seeing the world with the naked eye. In Apple's words, it is a "retina screen in the XR era."
The price for excellent display effects is extremely high cost. The cost of each screen is as high as US$350 (approximately RMB 2,511). The total cost of the two screens accounts for more than 20% of the price of Vision Pro.
The good news is that the cost of the Vision Pro screen is gradually declining. With the increase in production capacity, the negotiated MicroLED display price has dropped to around US$300 (approximately RMB 2,152).
Currently MicroLED displays are only manufactured by Sony, which can only produce about 1 million MicroLED panels a year.
Apple will introduce more suppliers in the future to reduce panel costs. Omdia research analysts predict that the price of MicroLED panels will drop to around US$250 in 2025 and to around US$210 in 2026.
This means that when the second generation of Vision Pro is launched, Apple will save about 33% of panel costs.
